Protect Your Copyright

Copyright is a type of legal protection for people who express ideas and information in certain forms. The most common forms are: writing, visual images, music and moving images.

As a serious publisher, we make it our priority to protect the copyright of our authors. We have three categories of copyright arrangement for our authors to choose from all of which utilise different methods of copyright protection.

Non-exclusive licence

Under this category, our authors grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish and sell their works and while we continue to use your work in this way you can also grant other people non-exclusive licences to use your work in a similar way. Under this arrangement our authors will remain the copyright owner and claimants take full responsibility in protecting their own copyrights. However, we, as a non-exclusive licensee, will keep an alert on any infringement of the copyright and inform our authors of any violations of the copyright we find.

Exclusive licence

Under an exclusive licence we are the only people entitled to use the work in the way covered by the licence agreement. It is common, for example, in book publishing agreements for a writer to grant the publisher an exclusive licence to print and publish the writer’s novel. Our authors are not entitled to license another publisher to publish the same book.  Under this arrangement, our authors will remain the copyright owner and claimant; however, we will play an active role in the protection of your copyrights.  In order to protect your copyright we may take measures including registering your works with a governmental licence registration office, such as the US Copyright Office, or take any required legal action arising from infringement of your copyright.

Copyright Assignment

Under copyright assignment, our authors transfer the copyright to us and retain proprietary rights of the work including:

·         Patent and trademark rights

·         The right to use part or all of the work after publication, in subsequent works,

·         The right to present the work orally

·         The right to make further copies of the work or any portion thereof without permission, for personal or internal use among colleagues within the same organisation as the author.

Under this arrangement, we take full responsibility for protecting the copyright. In order to protect your copyright we may take measures including registering your works with a governmental licence registration office, such as the US Copyright Office, or take any required legal action arising from infringement of your copyright.  Further more we will seek additional opportunities to generate more sales of your work which will then contribute to lifelong royalty payments for any copies of their works sold.
